Loenbro, LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our growing team in Cedar Rapids, IA. As part of the People Operations team, this role supports a wide range of HR functions, including new hire onboarding, compliance, and benefits administration.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong foundation in HR practices, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are highly desired.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with leadership to facilitate onboarding and orientation, ensuring new employees feel welcomed and have a strong start to their employment at Loenbro.
Maintain and update accurate employee records to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Conduct background checks and verify employment eligibility (I-9/E-Verify).
Administer employee programs related to compensation, benefits, leaves, and recognition as directed.
Assist with internal investigations, disciplinary actions, and employee separations as directed.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
Stay informed on HR best practices, labor law updates, and emerging HR technologies.
Perform other HR-related duties and projects as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR generalist or similar role.
SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance practices.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems (ATS), with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment at all times.
Strong ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member, including with remote locations.
Willingness to travel occasionally, sometimes on short notice.
