UCI Family Medicine, a Department of the University of California-Irvine School of Medicine, is committed to upholding the highest professional and institutional standards. We provide clinical services for patients of all ages in a variety of settings including Family Health Centers (FQHC’s) in Santa Ana and Anaheim, Joe C. Wen & Family Center for Advanced Care, SeniorHealth Center, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient services, and obstetric deliveries at the UCI Douglas Hospital in Orange. Our education programs span undergraduates, medical students, family medicine residents, fellows in geriatrics and sports medicine, and community outreach. Responsibilities

Provides clinical expertise and leadership while assisting in the development, monitoring, and presentation of internal quality measures and initiatives. Operates as a dyad with QI Administrator of the FQHC population health team. Disseminates QI performance to clinical staff team on a regular basis as the QI designee. Adheres to all elements of the HRSA compliance manual and UCI FQHC Policies and Procedures. Leads the development of a QI workplan for the FQHC clinic based on HRSA requirements. Provides leadership by focusing teams and organizational units on visions and distinctive strategies that result in excellent short and long‑term performance. Coordinates, tracks, and reports clinical outcomes. Leads the submission of the annual UDS and HRSA reports and ensures timely completion of corrective action plans related to quality. Attends trainings related to UDS, working closely with external and internal partners on clinical metrics and workflow improvements. Leads and participates in Quality and ad hoc meetings as directed by the EMD. Assists with coordination of monthly QI Meetings. Ensures the implementation of QI/QA operating procedures and related assessments, monitoring QI/QA outcomes, and updating QI/QA operating procedures. Communicates FQHC initiatives to department members to ensure adequate understanding. Assists department medical directors to prepare QI reports and statistics. Works in collaboration with the Executive Medical Director and medical directors to review incident reports from Safety and Quality Information System (SQIS) as well as patient grievances and contributes to follow‑up investigations. Collaborates with the FQHC EMD in the investigation of clinical events including sentinel events, sentinel event near misses, and significant adverse events; leads and/or participates in the development of root cause analyses. Prior grant writing experience, clinical metric reporting for progress reports and post‑grant reporting. Attends Quality Improvement Program (QIP) meetings with Population Health and Value Based Care for UCI Health to assist in meeting Medi‑Cal QIP quality measures and to advise measures that overlap with UDS and other relevant measures. Qualifications

Family physician; board‑certified, full‑scope ambulatory health care services including care of children, adults and the elderly. Experienced in providing and/or oversight of pre‑natal care. Leadership skills; ability to motivate, inspire, and communicate with faculty, residents, staff, and peers to maintain a professional, team‑based approach in the care of patients. Proficiency in Spanish. M.D. or D.O. from an accredited institution; completion of Family Medicine residency; board certification in Family Medicine. California Medical license required. Benefits
