We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join our Atlanta team. This role will be integral to our civil engineering projects, providing electrical engineering expertise and project leadership. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead electrical engineering design and analysis for civil engineering projects from concept through construction
Coordinate with civil engineers, landscape architects, designers, and other consultants on integrated project solutions
Prepare and review electrical design drawings, specifications, and calculations
Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for electrical infrastructure
Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure on‑time, on‑budget completion
Serve as primary client contact for electrical engineering matters
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations (NEC, local codes, etc.)
Coordinate with contractors and provide construction administration support
Participate in quality assurance/quality control reviews
Develop and maintain strong client relationships
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program
Professional Engineer (PE) license – required
6‑7 years of experience in electrical engineering design, preferably in civil engineering or infrastructure projects
Strong knowledge of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting design, grounding, and low‑voltage systems
Proficiency in electrical design software (AutoCAD, Revit MEP, SKM PowerTools, or similar)
Solid understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Valid driver’s license for site visits
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with civil engineering projects such as site development, municipal infrastructure, or transportation projects
Familiarity with sustainable design practices and energy‑efficient systems
Experience with utility coordination and outdoor/site electrical systems
Knowledge of lighting design software (AGi32, Dialux, or similar)
LEED accreditation or other sustainability certifications
