Maintenance Supervisor (Service Manager)
Peabody Companies is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor (Service Manager) to join our property management team at apartment communities in Dorchester, MA.
Job Summary As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will respond to a broad range of maintenance needs to ensure the efficient operation of the community. The ideal candidate is honest, self-directed, organized, able to multi‑task, and works well with coworkers and residents.
Responsibilities
Electrical maintenance and troubleshooting
Plumbing repair and system upkeep
HVAC service and preventive maintenance
Appliance repair and replacement
Locks & Keys management
Basic carpentry projects
Painting and drywall repair
Janitorial, grounds maintenance, and snow removal
Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self‑starter who takes initiative
Strong customer service orientation
Prior experience in facilities maintenance (minimum 5 years)
On‑call coverage for after‑hours emergencies, weekends and holidays
Ability to complete routine apartment maintenance and administrative tasks
Prompt response to maintenance issues
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED and valid driver’s license
Minimum 5 years of related maintenance experience, including supervisory experience
Basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and oversight of capital improvement projects
