Columbia Association is seeking a dynamic and experienced Adult Tennis Director to lead and grow our robust adult tennis programming. Located in the heart of Columbia, Maryland, our racquet sports facilities serve as vibrant hubs for recreation, competition, and community connection. About the Role:

Reporting directly to the Racquet Sports General Manager, the Adult Tennis Director plays a central leadership role in all adult tennis programming — including instructional programming, team training, events, and tournaments. This highly visible position is responsible for program growth, innovation, member satisfaction, coaching quality, and fiscal success.

As a leader in the Columbia Association’s Racquet Sports Division, you’ll work alongside a passionate team to bring CA’s Brand Promise, Mission, Vision, and Values to life through movement, community, and personal attention.

Lead and grow all adult tennis programs including instructional drills & clinics, Cardio Tennis, team training, beginner programs, and tournaments

Develop and implement a strategic business plan to drive participation, engagement, and revenue

Manage program operations including registration, scheduling, billing, and instructor onboarding

Teach a minimum of 25 hours per week (including adult and junior lessons)

Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate program instructors; conduct weekly training and workshops

Monitor and analyze performance metrics including attendance, court utilization, and financial reports

Collaborate with the General Manager and Operations team to elevate program excellence

Build strong relationships with members, guests, and prospects to foster community and retention

Respond to member inquiries and concerns within 24 hours with professionalism and care

Contribute to marketing, promotional efforts, and outreach to expand program visibility

✔ What We're Looking For:

3+ years of tennis teaching experience, with proven success in adult and tournament-level programming

Previous experience in program development, team leadership, creating business plans and budget management

NTRP 4.5+ with collegiate or tour-level playing experience

Active RSPA, PTR, or USTA certification required

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a positive, team-first attitude

Energetic, organized, and self-motivated with a passion for helping others thrive through tennis

Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000

Final offer will be based on experience, qualifications, and alignment with the role.
