Managing Consultant, Environmental Health and Safety ERM, the world’s largest pure-play sustainability consultancy, is seeking a Managing Consultant to help clients in the tech, biotech, manufacturing, power, chemical, and oil & gas sectors address critical EHS and sustainability challenges.

Location: San Francisco Bay Area, California (San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Clara, etc.)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement innovative H&S programs and strategies in areas such as IIPP, hazard communication, occupational health, safety management systems, process safety, and industrial hygiene.

Identify and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Assist with collection, review, and analysis of field data to evaluate conditions and implement effective solutions.

Support clients’ desire to improve safety performance through training, field coaching, and targeted EHS assessments.

Spend time onsite with clients throughout Silicon Valley and the Bay Area to address pressing H&S challenges.

Build client relationships and nurture repeat business by exceeding expectations and continuously striving to deliver value.

Collaborate with ERM employees and clients to ensure quality standards on project deliverables.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Engineering, or related science.

4+ years of relevant experience in technology, pharmaceutical/biotech, manufacturing, power, chemical, and oil & gas sectors.

Knowledge of California regulations and federal, state, and local EHS regulations.

Experience managing direct reports and/or project staff, scoping and managing project budgets and expenses.

Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, ERM employees, and vendors.

Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

Driver’s license required; ability to operate company vehicle for frequent travel to client locations.

This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

PREFERRED

Master’s degree or equivalent in Environmental, Chemical, Engineering, or a related science or engineering.

CSP, CIH, or similar certification/qualification.

SALARY $100,474 – $127,553 USD, based on education, experience, and geographic location. Annual discretionary performance bonus eligible.
