Position Description:
The Administrative Assistant will apply a wide variety of administrative procedures related to financial management, budgetary controls, and procurement. This role involves recommending changes in administrative policies, devising and installing procedures, and foreseeing administrative problems and requirements.
Position Responsibilities:
Apply knowledge of administrative procedures dealing with financial management and budgetary controls.
Utilize a foundation of administrative concepts to recommend changes in administrative policies and install new procedures and office practices.
Use general knowledge of Federal or District Government Procurement procedures to assist in the preparation and processing of documents.
Operate current Windows Applications and online computer systems to enter, search, and print information (e.g., vouchers, requisitions, actions).
Position Requirements:

Basic foundation of administrative concepts and practices.
General knowledge of Federal or District Government Procurement procedures.

Pay Range:
$22.00 to $30.20 an hour
This pay range reflects the current Service Contract Act (SCA) wage determination for Administrative Assistants in Washington, DC, for 2025. The minimum represents the entry‑level SCA wage. The maximum includes both the highest grade administrative assistant wage plus the federally required Health & Welfare (H&W) benefit, capped at $5.36/hour.
• Employees enrolling in benefits receive the SCA wage plus the value of employer‑sponsored benefits (medical, dental, vision, paid leave), with the employer contribution capped at the current SCA H&W rate. If benefit costs exceed this cap, the employee may elect to pay the difference.
• Employees who decline employer‑sponsored benefits may receive a higher hourly rate, up to the posted maximum, with H&W paid as additional taxable compensation.
• All rates and benefit offerings comply with federal SCA law and District regulations.
Actual pay within this range depends on assignment level, experience, and benefit selection/enrollment. All administrative SCA roles also include eligibility for paid sick leave, paid holidays, and other required leave per law.
