About the Position The Health & Human Services Department at County of Marin is looking to hire a Social Services Unit Supervisor to lead implementation of the Behavioral Health Bridge Housing Program (BHBH) within the division of Homelessness and Coordinated Care, with close collaboration with the division of Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS). It is a fixed-term position funded through the California Department of Health Care Services BHBH grant, expanding Marin’s capacity to provide housing and wraparound services for people experiencing homelessness who have serious behavioral health conditions.
Core Responsibilities
Supervising, coaching, and evaluating staff, ensuring high‑quality case management and responsive services.
Overseeing caseload distribution, service documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), and utilization of participant assistance and landlord incentive funds.
Carrying a small caseload of the most complex cases requiring advanced judgment and sensitivity.
Ensuring program compliance with state and federal laws, grant reporting requirements, and internal policies.
Collecting, analyzing, and reporting program data to meet BHBH grant requirements and inform program improvements.
Representing the Bridge Program in the community, cultivating partnerships with landlords, housing providers, and service agencies to support housing stability and recovery.
Supporting program evaluation, continuous quality improvement, and the development of policies and procedures.
Acting as a liaison and collaborator with BHRS service providers on housing related needs and supports for BHRS clients.
Fixed Term This is a fixed-term position budgeted through June 30, 2027. There may be opportunities to move to a regular, ongoing position during this period, or the position may be funded and convert to an ongoing position. Fixed‑term employment ends when the position’s funding finishes or the work is completed.

They are a skilled supervisor who can support and motivate staff, balance accountability with compassion, and foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement. They are comfortable managing both program operations and grant requirements, including data collection, outcome tracking, and reporting. The ideal candidate excels in relationship‑building and collaboration, communicates effectively with diverse stakeholders, and is diplomatic, adaptable, and solutions‑oriented. They are mission‑driven, passionate about improving outcomes for people experiencing homelessness and serious behavioral health conditions, and thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative, and evolving work environment.

Knowledge of housing programs, homelessness services, and behavioral health resources.
Ability to interpret and implement complex policies, regulations, and grant requirements.
Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting to drive program improvements.
Effective communication and collaboration skills with staff, partners, and community stakeholders.
Qualifications Knowledge of casework concepts, interviewing techniques, laws and regulations governing public social service agencies, principles of supervision and training, community organization, medical and psychiatric terminology, and related legal proceedings.
Minimum Qualifications A master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in sociology, psychology, social work, social welfare, counseling, mental health, or a closely related field; or a bachelor's degree with a major in sociology, psychology, social work, social welfare, counseling, mental health, or a closely related field and two years of experience directly related to the assignment at a level equivalent to a Marin County Child Welfare Worker II, Social Service Worker II, Eligibility Worker II, or Deputy Public Guardian/Conservator/Investigator. Lead experience is highly desirable.
