Job Overview The HUS Director of Strategic Sourcing leads sourcing across four strategic business units, responsible for direct spend on chemical-based commodities, castings, fabrications, forgings, stampings, electronics, custom hardware, plating/finishing, processed plastic, rubber, and glass, and develops a supplier sole‑source de‑risk strategy.
Day‑in‑the‑Life (Responsibilities)
Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for aggregated commodity purchases.
Lead cross‑functional teams to identify, track, and realize cost‑saving and cost‑reduction opportunities.
Manage supplier risk mitigation, risk rating system, and mitigation strategies for supply chain.
Own productivity initiatives, value engineering, and performance monitoring for direct spend.
Supervise direct reports across sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and procurement support.
Deliver regular strategic supplier business reviews and benchmark scorecards.
Drive supplier sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and contract management for assigned commodities.
Report project performance metrics to leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications
BS in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Engineering.
5‑10 years of validated experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working with manufacturing engineering and program management teams.
Strong negotiation skills in a matrixed corporate environment.
Knowledge of materials management, JIT, TCO, and working capital.
CPSM or APICS certification a plus.
