A Day In The Life The Sr. Manager, Sourcing – Grid Automation will provide overall direction to the sourcing team supporting the Grid Automation (GA) strategic business union of Hubbell Utility Solutions. The role manages a team of sourcing managers, specialists, and agents, and is accountable for delivering on Material Cost Reduction targets for the GA BU. The position acts as a liaison between Strategic Sourcing and the BU, ensuring requirements are met and category strategies resolve BU problems. It also oversees on‑time delivery of projects, on‑ground execution of the category strategy, and the development of a supplier sole‑source de‑risk strategy. The role reports to the Senior Director, Sourcing, HUS.

Direct day‑to‑day responsibility includes managing and supporting a Sourcing Manager responsible for their respective commodities, working with internal Strategic Business Unit stakeholders on productivity improvement strategies and ongoing supply chain performance management.

The role focuses on developing and executing risk‑reducing direct material sourcing strategies, reviewing casting, forging, stamping, electronics, and fiberglass product spend by region, and determining action plans to reduce risk while considering total cost of ownership. Leadership is also required to coordinate with Hubbell Corporate Sourcing to identify best cost options and balance workload across multiple Hubbell Utility System Business Units for optimal risk reduction.

What Will Help You Thrive in This Role?

BS in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Engineering

5–10 years of validated experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience working with manufacturing engineering and program management teams

Negotiation experience within a matrixed corporate environment, both internal and external

Knowledge of materials management, JIT, TCO, and working capital

CPSM or APICS certification is a plus
