Overview We are building some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world. The AWS Intelligence team seeks highly motivated engineers focused on operational excellence, troubleshooting complex system operations, and simplifying solutions to complex problems for U.S. Government agencies.

Responsibilities

Dive deep to locate root causes of customer issues and investigate trending metrics.

Design and implement radical new approaches to automate operational processes.

Execute defined tasks on schedule, identify ineffective processes, and mitigate or escape operational concerns in a timely manner.

Serve 24/7 shift work, including nights and weekends, to support continuous operations.

Day in the Life On a typical day, you will investigate customer issues, analyze metrics, and discuss automated solutions to improve operational efficiency.

Compensation Colorado base pay ranges from $91,000 to $152,000 per year. National base pay ranges from $81,900 to $152,000 per year, adjusted by location, knowledge, and experience. Amazon offers equity, sign‑on payments, and a full range of medical, financial, and benefits. Compensation may vary depending on the position offered. This position will remain posted until filled.

Basic Qualifications

High school or equivalent diploma, or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+

1–3 years of experience with Systems Administration in Linux/Unix (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat, Solaris, etc.)

1–3 years of experience with Networking (TCP/IP, DNS)

1–3 years of experience with Troubleshooting / Support for technical IT issues

Current, active U.S. Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph (TS/SCI)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with internet fundamentals and cloud computing concepts

Experience with AWS core services, Command Console, or command line interface

Experience with compute, database and storage concepts

Experience with Virtualization (VMware, Xen, Hypervisor)

Experience with security concepts and best practices

Experience with IPsec, VPN, Load Balancing, Iperf, MTR, Routing Protocols, SSH, and network monitoring tools; managing application stacks from OS to custom apps
