IT&E Test Systems - Engineering Services Support The Test Hardware Design Engineer will design, review and modify Test Equipment, Test Program Sets (TPSs) for the multiple programs. Test Program Sets (TPS) include Interface Test Adapters (ITA), Cables/Harnesses, and associated software updates to the common core test station.

That candidate should be experienced working in a team environment and capable of working with little direction. Excellent communication skills with capability to provide accurate weekly (and sometimes daily) status updates. This effort requires someone who is a self‑starter and has the desire to learn in collaboration with other E&T functions to develop requirements and technical solutions. Travel to Ocala production site support integration efforts as required.

Responsibilities

Design, Integration, Verification and Validation of developed hardware/software for Test Equipment

Integration of designs with existing common core common test stations

Creating test plans, documentation and analysis for Design Assurance Reviews, Verification and Validation of designed hardware

Programming Test Program Sets (TPS) as required with the National Instruments Development Suite (TestStand, LabWindows CVITM, and LabVIEW)

Electrical hardware, cable, circuit board design – Including component selection and procurement

Test System hardware troubleshooting to find defects for in‑house or supplier modified interface test adapters

Basic Qualifications

The candidate must the ability to read, develop, and understand electrical schematics

Experience in Electrical Hardware/Cable/Harness Design, including schematic development, component selection and procurement, and supporting technicians in assembly of the design

Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint

Moderate to advanced programming knowledge with the National Instruments Development Suite (TestStand, LabWindows CVITM, and LabVIEW)

Experience in oral and written communication to present to management.

Ability to travel 25% of the time, as needed

Required Experience/Skills

Candidate must have at least 1-2 years experience with Power Electronics

Candidate must have at least 2-4 years experience with Production

Candidate must have at least 2-4 years experience with Electrical Testing

Candidate must have at least 2-4 years experience with User Acceptance Testing

Candidate must have at least 1-2 years experience with Validation Test Plans

Candidate must have at least 1-2 years experience with wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts, in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines.

Candidate must have at least 1-2 years experience with Test Stations in a Production Environment

Candidate must have at least 1-2 years experience with Microsoft Office

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

Desired Skills

Familiarity with the Client Design Assurance Process and capable of organizing reviews.

Experience in Interface Test Adapter (ITA) designs - either in-house or supplier modified ITAs

Demonstrated experience with Automated Test Equipment and Test Methodologies

Experienced in hardware troubleshooting s

Familiarity with fundamental electro‑optical principles is a plus
