Syntax Talent Solutions is growing and looking for an Accounting Manager to join our team in Chicago, IL. The successful candidate will oversee daily accounting operations, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and lead a team of accounting professionals.

Base Pay Range

$115,000.00/yr – $135,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting process and provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Coordinate and complete annual audits.
• Train, mentor, and supervise accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a similar industry or sector.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives.
