Alliance Resource Group has partnered with a publicly traded green energy company that is hiring an Accounting Manager to their team due to an internal promotion.
This Accounting Manager will report directly to the incumbent of this position and will manage a team of four staff/senior accountants.
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting standards, managing the month-end close process, and supporting internal controls over financial reporting (SOX). This individual will supervise a team of accountants and play a key role in liaising with external auditors and cross-functional business partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial results
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared by the accounting team
- Oversee consolidation of global entities and ensure compliance with intercompany policies
- Assist with the preparation of SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, proxy, etc.) and related disclosures
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and maintain strong internal controls
- Research and document complex accounting transactions (revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, leases, acquisitions, etc.)
- Partner with FP&A and business leaders to provide meaningful financial insights and support decision-making
- Manage audits, coordinate with external auditors, and ensure timely resolution of issues
- Mentor, train, and develop staff accountants and senior accountants
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in public accounting (Big 4 or large regional firm strongly preferred)
- Experience in a publicly traded company with SEC reporting exposure required
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proven leadership and team development skills
