Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Accounting Specialist for a temporary assignment within Client Americas’ Securities Accounting team. This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional with deep expertise in both US GAAP and JGAAP, and a strong background in financial reporting, analysis, and intercompany reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and quarterly close processes under US GAAP and JGAAP.
• Prepare and review financial reconciliations and statements, including Head Office and BHC reporting.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide commentary on significant movements in P&L and Balance Sheet.
• Perform monthly balance sheet substantiation and intercompany reconciliations.
• Support financial analysis and assist in preparing internal and external reports.
• Generate recurring and ad-hoc reports for management and stakeholders.
• Participate in system enhancements and business projects.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors, and liaise with Tokyo and NY affiliates.
• Maintain GL accounts and prepare weekly balance sheet estimates.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance in all submitted materials.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 15 years in accounting or finance, preferably in capital markets.

Education: CPA preferred.
