Beacon Hill is partnering with a prestigious AmLaw 100 law firm to support their Los Angeles office with two temporary Litigation Legal Secretary openings. These are excellent opportunities to join a well-respected team and contribute meaningful support in a busy litigation practice.

Details

  • Position: Temporary Litigation Legal Secretary
  • Duration: 2-3 months
  • Pay Rate: $40-$59/hr (commensurate with experience)
  • Start Date: Urgent / ASAP

Responsibilities

  • Provide litigation secretarial support to multiple attorneys across practice groups
  • Handle heavy court filings (state, federal, and appellate), including e-filing and service of pleadings
  • Draft, edit, proofread, and format legal documents, pleadings, memoranda, and correspondence under deadlines
  • Track litigation deadlines and coordinate with docketing staff
  • Manage attorney calendars, schedule depositions, hearings, and travel
  • Maintain case files (paper and electronic) and prepare trial or working binders
  • Support billing, time entry, expense reporting, and vendor invoices
  • Serve as a professional point of contact with attorneys, staff, clients, and opposing counsel

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of litigation legal secretary experience in a law firm environment
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat/Power PDF (Office 365 a plus)
  • Typing speed of 75+ WPM with high accuracy
  • Familiarity with California and federal court rules and e-filing procedures
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent proofreading, grammar, and communication skills
  • Professionalism, discretion, and a team-oriented approach
