Welding Inspector @ Chicago, Illinois (1099 Contractor)

Join Pro QC International as a 1099 contractor welding inspector in Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities include

• Conduct thorough welding inspections on fabricated welds at various fabrication shops across the U.S.
• Ensure quality and compliance with client specifications.
• Report findings and provide recommendations.
• Perform final inspections before project signoffs.
• Travel may be required; inspectors may be assigned to multiple locations during a project.

Skills and certifications

• 5 years’ experience as a Welding Inspector
• Knowledge of welding techniques and inspection processes
• Familiarity with fabrication shop inspections preferred
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred but not required
• Non‑certified welders/inspectors with strong experience considered

Industry experience

• Experience in industrial fabrication, especially hospitals and building projects
• Prior experience with welding inspections for similar industries is ideal

Contract type: 1099 contract (Part Time)

Shift hours: Flexible, dependent on the project. May include full‑day or partial‑day shifts based on needs.
