To provide general medical services to patients ofthe Practice by way of patient contact of various forms and appropriateadministrative work together with such other duties as are required of thepractice About us

We work collaboratively with neighbouring practices and are closelyengaged with our Primary Care Network, ICB and colleagues in the voluntarysector and public health / social services. We have a dedicated team of 3 Partners, 4 Salaried GPs, 3 ANPs, 3 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs, 1 Phlebotomist, Practice Manager, Reception Manager, 8 Receptionists, 6 Administrators and 2 Pharmacists. Job responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES AND AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES To undertakesurgeries, visits and on-call as agreed between doctors Toensure that surgeries run to time within the constraints of General Practice Toundertake appropriate consultations face to face, by telephone or byonline consultation either at the surgery or at the patients place of residence bearingin mind the physical, psychological and social aspects of the patients situation Toundertake the gathering of relevant information, making appropriate diagnosticformulation and management strategies incorporating the patients own opinionsand belief systems Makecomprehensive and understandable records in the form agreed upon by thepartners Attempt,where possible, to follow through the management of an episode of illness with a patient Respondappropriately to emergencies which arise at the surgery or at the patients homewith necessary involvement of other agencies Showresponsiveness to other doctors working with you at any given time with regardsto the sharing of workload Whenon-call, be within reasonable distance from the practice to respond to possibleemergencies and be in a position to have direct communication with the practiceif needed ADMINISTRATION To review blood results, add appropriate actions and follow up requirements Toreview incoming patient letters, make any appropriate response to sender, add any action or follow up requirements Tocomplete reports sent by third party companies Tosign/trouble shoot prescriptions Tosend referrals and letters for typing as soon as possible to our secretarial team, usually within 3 days, same dayfor urgent referrals Person Specification
Qualifications
Fully qualified GP with GMC registration Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate) Be on the NHSE medical performers list Complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check Experience
Experience of working in a primary care environment Excellent communication skills (written and oral) Effective time management (Planning & Organising) Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure Experience with clinical risk management Ability to work as a team member and autonomously Sensitive and empathetic in distressing situations Ability to work under pressure / in stressful situations Effectively communicate and understand the needs of the patient Punctual and committed to supporting the team effort High levels of integrity and loyalty Flexible and cooperative Experience of QOF and clinical audit IT proficiency and familiarity with SystmOne Clinical System Problem solving & analytical skills Commitment to ongoing professional development Polite and confident Motivated, forward thinker Disclosure and Barring Service Check
