Join Northrop Grumman as a Principal Software Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO, supporting the Missile Defense System’s Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program. Position Overview The C2BMC program provides a layered missile defense capability used by the U.S. president, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders to plan operations, monitor battle progress, and control sensor and weapon systems. This role focuses on developing features and maintaining the in‑house analysis system SEAT Toolbox used for application verification and automated testing. Essential Functions Develop, enhance, and maintain the SEAT Toolbox for analysis of mission applications. Automate analysis and test processes using the SEAT Toolbox. Manage GitLab merge requests and assist other teams with tool‑related issues. Address urgent team issues referred to as PRs. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related experience, or Master’s and 3 years, or PhD and 1 year of experience. 9 years in lieu of a degree acceptable. Current, active DoD Secret clearance required to start. Willingness to travel up to 10%. Experience with automation, CI/CD pipelines, and fast‑paced collaborative environments. Hands‑on experience with Python and MATLAB. Preferred Qualifications Experience in backend software engineering, especially with Python or MATLAB. Maintaining and improving frameworks and similar systems. Knowledge of Bash/Unix, Java, Java Spring, Agile workflows, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Teams, Mattermost, Git, and GitLab. Travel and Relocation Travel: Yes, 10% of the time. Relocation assistance: No. Salary Primary level salary range: $100,300.00 – $150,500.00.
