This position, based in Colorado Springs, CO, plays a vital role in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels. This position requires on-site work with no remote options and does not provide relocation assistance. Position Overview
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a crucial part of the Missile Defense System. It provides a vital operational platform that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively control networked sensors and weapon systems to meet global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability, delivering an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It acts as a force multiplier by connecting, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to improve overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC plays a key role in all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's current and future capabilities. Essential Functions
Responsibilities of the position will mainly involve developing features and maintaining an in-house analysis system called the SEAT Toolbox Originally developed in MATLAB, this system is used to review logs and verify the functionality of mission applications, suite systems, and more The SEAT Toolbox is the main application used by the C2BMC program for analysis, among other purposes Help with developing automated analysis and tests (using the SEAT Toolbox) Outside of these responsibilities, other tasks include: Managing GitLab merge requests Assisting other teams with issues or bugs related to tools provided by the Tools Team Addressing urgent team issues, referred to as PRs
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master\’s Degree and 3 years of related experience, or 1 year of related experience with a PhD. Or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered. Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued
Secret
security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs Experience with automation and
CI/CD pipelines , as well as working in fast-paced, collaborative team environments Hands-on experience with
Python
and
MATLAB is required Preferred Qualifications
Background experience in
backend software engineering , especially with
Python
or
MATLAB , is highly preferred for the Tools Team\'s current needs Experience in maintaining and improving frameworks and similar systems is also a significant plus Bash/Unix ,
