Identifies, analyzes, and initiates various techniques to resolve reported issues as a first level support for all devices or applications provided by the Sheriff\'s Office. Assists in the setup and maintenance of Situational Awareness applications for use with Emergency Communications to Law Enforcement/Fire & EMS users. Performs equipment changes to Cisco VOIP telephone network. Maintains and /or assist with system security of all computer and radio networks. Assists in the support and maintenance of Domain Access and DUO multi-factor security authentication. Diagnoses connectivity problems; resolves or coordinates resolution of problems. Assists users in the operation of APEX radios (including programming/reprogramming of APEX radios) and various computer equipment. Support complex client/server systems maintaining minimal outages to end user computing. Work with I.T. staff as appropriate to determine and resolve problems received from county employees. Serves as liaison between departments and other public agencies including County IT (assisting with standards and procedures directly related to information technology). Responsible for the maintaining of computer re-imagining and image maintenance. Provides administrative assistance to management staff. Responsible for or assists in the installation/set-up and maintenance of the Trackstar GPS vehicle tracking system including Mobile-Data GPS and Mobile applications. Responsible for or assists in the maintenance of the Tiburon CAD File Maintenance System and Tiburon RMS Code Table Maintenance Systems. On call and answers emergency calls for service related to technical issues. Requisitions supplies and recommends equipment expenditures. Assists with the Server Ops of this Agency including Virtual Environment (VMWARE) and Isilon Network Storage. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers. Installs, replaces, upgrades and repairs non-complex personal and laptop computers at work stations, including peripheral hardware (e.g. scanners, printers, speakers, cameras, monitors, etc.). Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar science or engineering discipline or High School Diploma with 3 years technical school or specialized training in electronics and telecommunications. High School Diploma and 4 years of experience may substitute for the degree requirement, in addition to the 2 years of experience requirement. 2+ years job related experience. Strong organizational skills; verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials. Ability to complete assigned tasks within tight deadlines; ability to prioritize own and others’ work. Proficient with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Mobile IOS; Proactively stays informed of technological advances and trends in IT; Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearances; Must possess a valid driver\'s license; must be able to maintain prompt and regular attendance; Visual acuity, speech, hearing, hand, eye coordination, and manual dexterity necessary to operate computer, office, and telecom equipment; May require using a ladder at heights up to 20 feet off the ground. A+, CompTIA or CCNA, SEC+ certifications preferred; Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP; Working knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, network cabling, wireless, and remote access methodologies; Highly organized, with exceptional attention to detail.
