Accounting Manager

Position: Full-Time

Location: On-Site

The Role Own the accounting operations for a multi‑entity real estate development platform. You’ll lead month‑end close, project/job‑cost accounting, cash and debt compliance, and investor/lender reporting—building tight controls and clear, decision‑ready reporting for executives and project leaders.

What You’ll Do

Month‑End Close & GL

Manage a 10‑business‑day close across multiple entities/SPVs; maintain the chart of accounts and closing checklist.

Prepare/review journal entries, accruals, intercompany eliminations, and all balance‑sheet reconciliations.

Manage multi‑entity balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement consolidations

Maintain fixed assets and CIP → placed‑in‑service transfers; run depreciation and amortization.

Project / Job‑Cost Accounting

Set up projects, budgets, and cost codes; track commitments, change orders, retainage, and cost‑to‑complete/WIP.

Enforce capitalization policies (soft vs hard costs), interest capitalization, and overhead allocations.

Prepare monthly lender draw packages (backup, lien waivers, COIs).

Cash, AP, and Treasury

Oversee cash positioning, wires/ACH, vendor terms, and payment runs; ensure 1099 compliance.

Monitor debt covenants and borrowing bases; coordinate capital calls and distributions.

Coordinate monthly forecasting updates with departments heads; consolidate to a company master forecast; convert to cash‑basis to perform monthly treasury analysis

Reporting & Analytics

Deliver monthly project BvA (budget vs actuals), KPI dashboards, and executive packets; provide variance analyses with clear narratives.

Prepare lender and investor reporting calendars and monthly financial reporting packages

Provide support for board materials, as needed.

Systems, Controls, and Process Improvement

Administer accounting/ERP and job‑cost systems; strengthen internal controls and documentation.

Drive automation (imports, integrations, checklists) and standardize SOPs (standard operating procedures).

Team Leadership

Supervise and develop 1–3 staff accountants/AP specialists; set priorities and review work products.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

4–7+ years total; 2+ years in real estate development or construction accounting preferred, but not required.

Technical:

Job costing/WIP, draw packages, retainage, change orders, commitment‑tracking, multi‑entity close, intercompany eliminations

Software:

Proficiency with Yardi (or similar accounting software), Ramp (or similar expense management platform, Excel or Google Sheets

Work Style:

Detail‑driven, organized, and deadline‑reliable; comfortable in a lean, fast‑moving environment. Ability to adapt and be flexible under changing environments. Team‑player with strong collaboration skills.

Work Environment, Salary, Benefits

5 days per week in‑office, open office environment

Base salary range: $95,000 - $110,000, depending on experience, plus bonuses and project promote

Standard health/dental/retirement benefits.
