Public Health Program Director 2 Nashville, TN/Hybrid 7+ Months This role is hybrid with some in-office expectations in Nashville, TN at supervisor discretion. Position is renewable annually, pending funding availability. First day attendance expected in-person in Nashville for orientation and laptop deployment. Travel to Nashville, TN is not reimbursable. Position is full-time, 37.5 hours per week. Weekly work schedule is Monday-Friday from 8:00AM to 4:30PM, with no overtime allowed.

The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH), Division of Family Health and Wellness (FHW), is seeking a Public Health Program Director 2 to work with the Tobacco Prevention and Control Program within the Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion Section.

This position will be responsible for advancing smoking cessation initiatives, with a focus on populations experiencing the highest rates of tobacco use.

Key responsibilities include: Program Leadership: Direct and manage evidence-based cessation programs designed to reduce tobacco and nicotine use across the state.

Stakeholder Engagement: Convene and collaborate with public health partners, community organizations, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to build capacity and strengthen statewide tobacco control efforts.

Data-Driven Decision-Making: Utilize epidemiologic data and program evaluation to inform strategies, monitor progress, and ensure accountability in reducing tobacco-related burden.

Strategic Implementation: Align program goals with TDH priorities, and national best practices to maximize impact on population health.

The successful candidate will bring strong leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills to drive a comprehensive tobacco cessation agenda.
