The Integrated Materials & Structures Technology Team within Boeing Technology Innovation (BTI) is seeking a Technical Analyst (Entry Level, Associate, Mid-Level) – Composites Materials, Process, & Physics Engineer (MP&P) to join our team in Berkeley, MO. This group is part of the Composites, Materials, & Structures organization within BTI. Dual mission: 1) Execute R&D in next‑generation thermoset composites, focused on Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) relevant materials; 2) Develop and mature applications for these new materials through advanced design and manufacturing demonstrator programs to de‑risk and accelerate adoption by BDS programs.
This experienced engineer will lead material selection, process development, characterization, and troubleshooting of polymer matrix and fiber‑reinforced composite systems for aerospace applications. They will also lead manufacturing risk reduction demonstration programs to de‑risk and accelerate adoption of new composite materials and manufacturing processes for BDS programs. The role offers hands‑on exposure to lab‑scale manufacturing processes, mechanical and physical/chemical testing, data analysis, and cross‑functional project work with early career and senior engineers.
Position Responsibilities
Utilize hand layup skills, composite trimming, composite repairs, composite tooling, and tooling preparation; provide feedback on composite manufacturability
Create work instructions and define process specifications with composite engineers on the team
Operate automated ply cutting equipment, autoclaves, and other laboratory equipment
Clean tools, deflashing parts, machine parts, and measure parts
Evaluate work performed and document lessons learned; help develop processes for new materials and improve processes for existing materials
Conduct lab maintenance and operations, safety responsibilities, and implementation of continuous improvement items
Support training and development of other lab technicians and engineers
Basic Qualifications
1 year or more experience in a factory and/or manufacturing lab environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with thermoset composite material systems and fabrication processes
Experience working with both manually operated industrial equipment and fully‑automated processing equipment
Experience with CNC machining of composite (e.g., thermoset, thermoplastic) and metallic (e.g., aluminum, steel, titanium) materials
Experience with programming for machining operations
Some technical college experience
Travel 10%

Entry Level: $42,500 – $57,500
Associate: $52,700 – $71,300
Mid‑Level: $61,200 – $82,800
