Position The Revenue Cycle Manager (RCM) oversees all aspects of laboratory billing operations, including direct supervision of our offshore billing team based in the Philippines. This role ensures timely and accurate claims submission, proper coding, revenue cycle optimization, and payer compliance.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in laboratory billing, proven leadership skills, and is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC). This is a
hybrid position , with the expectation to be
in office one day per week
at the Austin location.
Responsibilities
Supervise and lead a billing team of ~40 individuals, including offshore team members in the Philippines
Oversee the end-to-end billing process for molecular diagnostics and toxicology services
Ensure accurate CPT and ICD‑10 coding for all laboratory procedures in compliance with payer requirements
Manage denials, appeals, and reimbursement issues within required timelines to optimize revenue cycle performance
Develop and maintain billing policies, workflows, and training to improve efficiency and compliance
Collaborate with the laboratory, finance, and IT departments to resolve billing-related concerns
Analyze billing data and generate reports to identify trends and areas for improvement
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations, payer changes, and industry standards
Serve as a point of escalation for complex billing issues or client concerns
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in clinical laboratory billing (molecular/toxicology preferred)
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience managing at least 15 direct reports
Strong understanding of laboratory billing guidelines, CPT, ICD‑10, and payer‑specific requirements
Demonstrated leadership ability, including experience managing offshore or remote teams
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
Hands‑on experience with medical billing and EHR systems (AdvancedMD or similar preferred)
Ability to analyze data, generate reports, and drive process improvements
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, compliance‑driven environment
Education
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) – Required
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field preferred
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM CDT
Hybrid – in office 1x/week
Job Type Full‑time, W2 Salary: $90,000 – $130,000 annually, depending on experience Relocation assistance available on a case‑by‑case basis
