Location
Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion, UC San Diego Health.
Responsibilities
Perform screening and diagnostic breast imaging procedures; assist in interventional breast procedures.
Maintain operational effectiveness in Breast Imaging area with attention to patient flow, customer service, equipment oversight, and quality control guidelines.
Collaborate with radiologists and clinicians to implement new procedures and processes that ensure seamless operations.
Maintain continuing education specific to Breast Imaging and participate in work organization, training, and evaluation of staff as a member of self-directed work teams.
Demonstrate knowledge of principles of radiation safety and comply with radiology imaging protocols and policies.
Work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, call, and some overtime if necessary.
Use PACS, digital mammography, and radiology information system (RIS), and hospital information system (HIS).
Minimum Qualifications
Complete certification training program for Radiologic and Mammographic Technologist.
California Radiology Technologist of Mammography (CRT‑M).
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of first hire date.
Demonstrated PACS, digital mammography, and computer knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
At least one (1) year of experience as a Mammography Technologist.
Registered Technologist for Mammography issued by ARRT (R.T(M)(ARRT)).
Special Conditions
Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on‑call and locations based on the 24‑hour Medical Center’s business needs.
Must be able to work flexible hours, which may include day, evenings, weekends and some overtime if necessary for unexpected staffing issues.
Employment subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical.
