Overview
UC San Diego Health is seeking CT Technologist (CT Tech) or Senior CT Tech for the Radiology department at the Hillcrest site. This is a 75% appointment (approximately 60 hours per biweekly pay period) with 12 hour shifts, Sunday–Saturday; variable; 2 openings. The posting describes a role within an expanded outpatient facility with a focus on cancer care and diagnostic imaging. Duties include performing CT procedures under supervision, supporting radiology staff, and contributing to patient-centered care in a multi-disciplinary environment. Responsibilities
Perform routine to complex computerized tomography (CT) procedures for diagnostic purposes in accordance with established guidelines and CT protocols. Prepare and position patients for CT procedures using established protocols to achieve high-quality images; follow radiologist-specified protocols. Administer contrast media orally or assist the physician with intravenous administration; enter and manage data in the computer system. Review, verify, and evaluate images and radiographs to ensure technical and image quality; assist with other duties as assigned. Act as a CT subject matter expert and provide guidance to other technicians as needed; maintain knowledge of radiation safety principles. Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of a school of radiologic technology. California Radiology Technologist of Radiography (CRT-R). Registered Technologist for Computed Tomography (R.T.(CT)) issued by ARRT. Venipuncture certification or completion of a Venipuncture course. BART or BLS at time of hire, with commitment to obtain BART within six months of hire date. Less than three years of recent experience in a similar role and setting or a new graduate (CT Tech) OR more than three years of experience (Sr. CT Tech). Thorough knowledge of radiologic computerized systems and applications; familiarity with PACS and RIS. Ability to perform the duties of the position with the necessary skills and knowledge. Preferred Qualifications
CRT-F (Fluoroscopy). Five or more years of experience; hospital experience preferred. Special Conditions
