Role Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineering Engineer to support and optimize enterprise data platforms and integration environments. This role focuses on administering IBM InfoSphere DataStage, managing Kubernetes-based deployments, and maintaining Red Hat OpenShift clusters. You’ll collaborate across teams to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient data services.
Key Responsibilities
Administer IBM InfoSphere DataStage environments (install, upgrade, configure, license)
Architect and optimize deployment strategies across Kubernetes platforms (GKE, OpenShift)
Maintain OpenShift clusters for data services and pipelines
Operate and troubleshoot Apache NiFi flows and clusters
Develop and maintain automation scripts (Bash, Python, etc.)
Build CI/CD pipelines for DataStage, NiFi, and containerized services
Monitor platform health and implement alerting and performance tuning
Execute backups, disaster recovery drills, and restore procedures
Enforce security best practices (RBAC, secrets, patching, logging)
Troubleshoot integration stack incidents and document findings
Maintain operational documentation and mentor junior engineers
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years in production systems administration and platform support
3+ years administering IBM InfoSphere DataStage
Red Hat OpenShift cluster operations
Apache NiFi experience preferred
Security: RBAC, secrets management, TLS, patching
Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with DataStage 11.x and CP4d
Experience containerizing DataStage workloads
Familiarity with enterprise backup and DR solutions
Education Seniority level: Mid-Senior level
