Previous experience with IT Infrastructure projects such as server migrations or network upgrades is required.

This position is onsite daily in Houston, TX (77064).

Job Description

Manage and lead multiple simultaneous small-scale, self-contained projects to successful completion with minimal supervision.

Initial projects include leading a server migration project and a network switch upgrade project.

Provide assistance in managing large-scale technical projects from initiation through implementation including planning, analysis, design development and implementation.

Maintain detailed project plans, coordinate project activities, facilitate meetings, maintain project artifacts and track project issues to resolution.

Create and maintain project-related documentation including project audit checklist, project status reporting, meeting notes, project schedules and customized release management checklist.

Familiar with change management processes.

Compile custom project status reports, documents and presentations used by management for status analysis and future strategy development.

Monitor project progress, budget and report status.

Set up and maintain workspaces in project document repository and monitor overall project compliance.

Assist in developing presentations and project reports for senior management as needed.

Respond to operational issues and information requests within defined areas of responsibility while progressing on project work.

Provide support to Project Manager/PMO to ensure project milestones, schedule and budget goals are met.

Conduct and assist with other initiatives as directed by Project Manager.

Qualifications

A minimum of four years of IT experience with three or more years in an IT project leadership position.

Experience managing projects with IT equipment at distributed field locations and specifically operations facilities preferred.

Bachelor of Science degree preferred.

Self-motivated mindset.

Energy industry experience preferred.

A broad range of IT knowledge, including proven experience with technical infrastructure projects, is required.

Proven track record of working with internal and external resources to meet project objectives.

Experience managing project resources that are not dedicated to a project or co-located.

Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, influencing, organization and facilitation skills.

Experience working with Microsoft tools including Excel, MS Project and SharePoint required.

Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Monday.com, SmartSheets.

Ability to take initiative and manage own workload, maintain project plans and schedules, and produce quality work with strong attention to detail.

Ability to identify project issues and risks throughout the project and critically evaluate and solve problems.

Ability to manage and reset priorities in a rapidly changing environment and work with personnel across different disciplines and at different management levels within the organization.

Ability to analyze and report project status and research information.
