Job Overview
As a Staff Accountant with Scout Clean Energy, you will play an integral role in building a tightly knit and highly productive team. You will learn the many facets of a wind developer and operator’s accounting, from day‑to‑day transactions to month‑end project financials, due diligence on acquisitions, and tax equity investor requirements. You will be responsible for accurately completing a variety of accounting tasks on firm timelines, ensuring our company can continue to grow and meet commitments to staff, investors, communities, and partners. Responsibilities
Process day‑to‑day transactions accurately and timely (AP, AR, accruals, expense reports, job costing, journal entries, bank reconciliations). Prepare schedules and reports to support cash management, budgets, account reconciliations, and analysis. Maintain supporting documentation such as fixed‑asset schedules. Assist with accounting and preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP in a multi‑company environment. Review financial data for accuracy, identify problems, and support day‑to‑day operations. Research and reconcile discrepancies and verify documents per accounting procedures and policies. Complete ad‑hoc assignments and special projects as required. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related business field. 2‑4 years of accounting experience (internships acceptable). Prior experience in energy, construction, or real‑estate development preferred. High attention to detail, proactive teamwork, and ability to work independently. Working experience with accounting systems and Microsoft Office suite required; intermediate Excel proficiency preferred. Optional: SQL experience. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills with operational procedure experience. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle discretion. Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Location & Timeline
This position will begin as soon as possible, preferably in November 2025. The ideal candidate will be able to commute to our Boulder office at least three times each week. Values & Diversity
