UT Southwestern
SUMMARY
This position manages various spend categories identified as managed categories, within the Supply Chain Management Department, focusing on streamlining processes, cost reduction, GPO (Group Purchasing Organization) / State contract optimization and increasing utilization of contracted products and services. They are responsible for driving results, meeting deliverables, and owning all stages of the Sourcing / RFP / Proposal / Contracting process as assigned. This role requires maintaining the integrity and accuracy of Category contracts by working with the Sourcing and Contracting Specialist, Legal for contract review, Value Analysis, internal stakeholders and independently to keep all materials and data up to date. The primary purpose of this job is to identify opportunities, develop assigned category project pipelines, and to lead strategic initiatives and provide accurate and current market information for decision making. Demonstrates technical procurement knowledge of a broad spectrum of commodities and services pertinent to the assigned category. Interacts with departments and units within the institution in identifying areas of spend optimal for strategic sourcing. Demonstrates to leadership a deep knowledge of their assigned category and market trends.

(CTCD) CERT TEXAS CONTRACT DEVELOPER within 1-1 / 2 Yrs

JOB DUTIES
Works independently to lead strategic conversation with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Identifies cost savings opportunities and develops strategy roadmap to achieve the goals.
Presents market assessments and strategy recommendations to key stakeholders and executive leadership to align expectations, visions and buy in.
Provides mentorship to team members on developing pipelines or any category management roles.
Assists with the procurement lifecycle while coordinating efforts with end-users sourcing approaches and providing recommendations based on contract hierarchy and federal and state regulations.
Assists with a risk assessment and contract monitoring plan and KPI management.
Works with the technical teams and SMEs to translate highly technical requirements and information into clear messaging and content to produce compelling, responsive and superior quality RFPs, proposals, and final contracts.
Partners with internal SMEs to maintain up to date product information and functionality related content and materials.
Implements a value-based selection process and positions the Sourcing team and Supply Chan Department as a trusted advisor.
Supports the e-commerce strategy for assigned spend categories.
Manages supplier relationships, ensuring that UTSW business needs are met. Establishes key performance metrics (KPIs) to measure supplier performance and lead supplier business reviews.
Exports, Filters, Categorizes and Interprets volumes of data to identify opportunities resulting from data selections and recommend sourcing opportunities.
Compiles information and responds to internal and external audit requests.
Setting up, maintaining and completing tasks / activities in Sourcing Director platform.
Performs other duties as assigned.
