X-Lab Software Engineer

Auria Space . This role is on‑site at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, and supports the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, an essential component of the Missile Defense System.

Base pay range $106,000.00/yr – $117,000.00/yr

Responsibilities • Develop, test, and integrate future‑capability prototypes for the Missile Defense System, including Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, and User Interface Development.

• Serve as a mid‑level team member focusing on innovative solutions for C2BMC X‑Lab projects and experiments.

• Work full‑time, on‑site at MDIOC and support non‑standard work hours.

• Communicate desired capabilities to a diverse group of developers, engineers, SME’s and system users using Agile processes.

Essential Functions

Full‑time on‑site at MDIOC and not remote; willing to adapt to event execution schedules.

Strong understanding of Agile software development principles.

Comfortable with rapid requirement changes, innovative design challenges, and tight deadlines.

Qualification Requirements

Mission‑driven professional motivated to develop cutting‑edge solutions.

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline preferred; 5+ years related experience, or Master’s + 3 years, or PhD + 1 year. 9 years experience may substitute for a degree.

Current active DoD‑issued Secret security clearance at application time; required to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Current active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher.

Willingness to travel up to 10% for business needs.

Experience with Java and Spring Framework; Linux environment; software testing and analysis tools.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Current active DoD‑issued TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility.

Experience developing prototypes for Missile Defense System (Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, UI).

Full‑cycle software engineering of new capabilities.

Basic Systems Engineering knowledge to inform software design.

Object‑oriented development principles and pattern testing; capability to create detailed repeatable tests.

Pay Transparency The salary offered ranges between $106,000 and $117,000, based on qualifications, skills, education, and experience.
