Minimum Qualifications:

A doctorate degree or terminal degree in education, public administration, social work, or a related field is required.

Position Summary:

As a member of the Fanning Institute, the faculty member is responsible for securing, managing, and building a portfolio of client work that aligns with the vision and mission of the Fanning Institute. The faculty member provides consultation, facilitation, training, technical assistance, and applied research to clients on diverse leadership development needs. The faculty member provides services in alignment with the Institute’s mission and is a link between local communities and UGA expertise.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1) Assist the Director in implementing the vision, mission, and strategic plan of the Institute to include strategy, budgeting, personnel, marketing and communications, instruction and training, and research and evaluation. 2) Manage the Conflict Resolution and Youth Serving Programming team of faculty and program coordination staff. 3) Build project teams of faculty/staff to leverage Institute expertise on conflict resolution and youth‑serving client projects and initiatives, assist with strategic initiatives of the Institute, and represent the Fanning Institute in internal and external meetings as assigned by the Director. 4) Proactively seek funding for work that aligns with the mission and vision of the Fanning Institute, especially federally funded grant opportunities and support client relationships that result in collaborative efforts. 5) Coordinate and collaborate with key Fanning Institute partners to identify and respond appropriately, develop innovative programs and services to meet the needs of wide‑ranging clients. 6) Provide group and individual instruction, facilitation, data gathering sessions, mediation, technical assistance, etc., both on and off campus. 7) Conduct effective project management by working collaboratively with other Fanning Institute personnel and ensuring all contractual deliverables are met.

Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, And/or Certification:

Extensive background in leadership development, organization development, or conflict resolution with a record of developing and managing programs that provide services to individuals and communities. Extensive history of managing people, developing and monitoring budgets, managing projects in higher education throughout Georgia, and working with faculty from various academic departments.

Knowledge of the Institute’s mission, goals, services, and range of expertise.

Ability to consistently secure external contracts and build capacity to meet contract obligations.

Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, competing priorities, project resources, and budgets.

History of and ability to work directly with wide‑ranging clients.

Commitment and ability to interact in a positive and supportive manner with Institute colleagues, agency leaders, elected and appointed officials, and agency staff and service providers. Flexibility and willingness to work toward solutions.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Understanding of the complexities involved in the Institute’s mission and a willingness to work through complexities to deliver solutions.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Demands:

Ability to sit at a desk, drive a state vehicle, carry up to 25 pounds, and facilitate in front of large groups.
