Executive Director – Pequot Library
Aspen Leadership Group partners with Pequot Library to fill the Executive Director position. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Trustees and will provide strategic vision, leadership, and management of all library functions, including lending services, cultural programs, children’s programs, Special Collections, and the physical assets of the library building and property. Role Overview
The Executive Director oversees more than twenty full‑time and part‑time staff members and over 500 programs that serve 55,000 people annually. The Director will develop innovative programming, ensure effective operations, and pursue aggressive fundraising. In addition, the Executive Director will represent the library in the community, develop synergistic partnerships, and serve as the face of the library, requiring public speaking and mission advocacy. Responsibilities
• Provide strategic vision and leadership of the library’s services and programs. • Oversee all operational, financial, and human resource functions. • Design and implement innovative programming and special events. • Pursue and manage fundraising initiatives and grant programs. • Cultivate public and community partnerships and advocacy. • Represent the library at public events, in the media, and in the community. Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Minimum seven years of progressive leadership experience in a library, museum, cultural organization, or related field. • Master’s degree, Ph.D. in Library Science, or MBA/MPA with education or arts experience is preferred. • Demonstrated strategic planning, operations management, and fundraising success. • Excellent communication, public speaking, and community engagement skills. Compensation
