Position Title Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Affairs Job Description Reporting to the President, the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs ( EMSA ) is a member of the Executive Cabinet. The Vice President for EMSA provides executive leadership, oversight and evaluation for the Enrollment Management and Student Affairs division. As the Chief Enrollment Management and Student Affairs Officer, the VP for EMSA should demonstrate as well as have knowledge of the challenges and complexities facing regional higher education institutions and students in the 21st century. The VP will exhibit a desire and ability to serve as an advocate for students and will prioritize working directly with students and will serve as a mentor/advisor in expanding efforts to promote student leadership and engagement. The University’s Enrollment Management Plan is the responsibility of the VP EMSA, including the comprehensive oversight for planning and implementation of goals, objectives and strategies related to each office in the Enrollment Management and Student Affairs Division as well as insuring those goals, objectives and strategies are reflective of the vision and mission of Mississippi Valley State University. The VP EMSA is also responsible for all aspects of a comprehensive student life program and works collaboratively with senior administrators, student leaders, faculty, and staff to create a campus environment that contributes positively to the overall academic experience. The VP EMSA fosters student learning in all dimensions of student life and has a strong commitment to diversity and a student learner-centered philosophy. Develops and directs a strong Enrollment Management and Student Affairs team. Plans and manages the Enrollment Management and Student Affairs budget Provides leadership in the ongoing development and analysis of student life, activities, and out-of-classroom learning environments. Provides guidance to EMSA directors in the development of short- and long-range plans and supports the achievements of goals that are aligned with the University’s Strategic Plan. Provides leadership for the university-wide Enrollment Readiness Committee and Enrollment Management Taskforce. Coordinates the annual review of the Enrollment Management Plan and implement revisions as needed. Analyzes and evaluate annual strategic and targeted enrollment goals and needs. Utilizes state, regional and national data to create predictive models of enrollment trends and results. Collaborates with faculty, staff, and administrators to effectively address facilities, financial, legal, and academic issues relating to students. Cultivates trust and credibility with colleagues. Fosters high levels of cooperation between student life and academics. Fosters the development of a campus culture supportive of students from diverse backgrounds. Reviews and oversees all personnel matters for EMSA Division; ensures successful recruitment and retention of a well-qualified, high performing EMSA team focused on the effective delivery of programs and services that enhances student retention and success; supports ongoing training and professional development of staff. Develops, implements, and interprets procedures, processes, and policies; manages change in a thoughtful manner and establishes best practices that are tailored to the unique needs and capabilities of the University. Articulates the vision, mission, and values of the University, both externally and internally; representing it with credibility and integrity. Establishes a strong public presence on campus, attends campus-wide cultural, social, and athletic events, and builds positive relationships with the external community. Performs other duties as delegated by the President The Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs is responsible for direct supervision of the following staff/departments: Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Campus Life Judicial Affairs Student Leadership and Engagement Financial Aid Admissions/Recruitment Intramural and Recreational Sports Career Services Required Qualifications

The Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs must have demonstrated ability to address the essential functions associated with this position. Proficient in the use of personal computers including word processing, spreadsheets and database software, and management information systems used in enrollment management and student affairs administration. The Vice President must be knowledgeable of best practices in the administration of student life and skilled in fiscal management, supervision, strategic planning, and human resource management. In addition, the Vice President for Enrollment Management Student Affairs must have a genuine interest in working with students and be sensitive to the understanding of a diverse and multicultural community. Preferred Qualifications

This position requires an earned Ph.D./Terminal Degree from an accredited institution in student personnel, higher education administration, or a related field with the following requirement: Minimum of eight years with substantial successful leadership experience demonstrated by quantifiable advancement within their present or previous organization in enrollment management and student affairs Documents Needed To Apply
