or mhamilton@alinestaffing.com Scientist II – Materials Science / Polymer Chemistry Location: Franklin Lakes, NJ (100% Onsite) Pay Rate: $41.67/hour (W2) Contract Type: 1-Year W2 Contract (Potential to extend or convert) Schedule: Monday to Friday, onsite Interview Process: Two video interviews – initial screening + panel interview Key Responsibilities
Design, plan, and execute laboratory experiments in materials and polymer science. Conduct feasibility studies and engage with material suppliers. Support design verification, validation, and transfer to manufacturing. Document experiments, analyze results, and share insights with cross‑functional teams. Participate in R&D efforts across product development lifecycles. Contribute to intellectual property (e.g., patent submissions, invention records). Adhere to Good Laboratory Practices and maintain laboratory standards. Mentor junior team members and support a collaborative R&D environment. Occasional travel to conferences, customer sites, and manufacturing locations. Qualifications
Education: M.S. or higher in
Materials Science, Chemistry , or a related engineering discipline required. B.S. with
2–3+ years
of direct laboratory experience will be considered. Experience & Skills: Minimum
2–3 years
of hands‑on laboratory experience, including handling
clinical specimens
(e.g., human blood). Expertise in
polymer formulation, processing , and structure–property relationships. Proficient with
MS Office
and familiar with
statistical tools
(Minitab, Excel, etc.). Strong written/verbal communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills. High learning agility and self‑motivation in a fast‑paced R&D environment. Why Apply?
