Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) is one of Lockheed Martin’s outstanding Lines of Business that prioritizes partnership, integrity, and reliability. The Life Extension 2 (LE2) team is an organization within the greater FBM program which supports the development of the Next Generation System by developing concepts, researching, and maturing technologies to support the development of the next FBM Missile System. As a Mechanical and Propulsion Engineering Asc. Manager you will lead a team of thermal fluids analysts to support the design of a complex propulsion system. You will be responsible driving integration with multiple IPTs and ensuring close collaboration to ensure a sound technical solution. You will be responsible for the analysis teams; execution, schedule, budget, subcontracts and personnel. At the end of day your team will be responsible for ensuring that the system can successfully execute the mission. Desired skills

Experience as a propulsion, fluids or thermal analyst Experience with CFD (ANSYS FLUENT) Experience developing models from the ground up (first principles) Highly effective communication skills, including ability to explain complex concepts, lead reviews, and negotiate requirements Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and tackle numerous roles as part of the daily program operations Willingness to wear multiple hats and do whatever is needed to help your team succeed Prior experience implementing change initiatives Understanding and experience with drawing release Experience with any of the following software: MATLAB / Simulink, Python, Thermal Desktop, ANSYS, Pointwise, Spaceclaim, github, gitlab or Bitbucket Other Important Information

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Additionally, for most major metropolitan areas in California and New York, the range is $120,100 - $208,150.
