GEICO is seeking a Senior Staff AI Engineer to lead the development of a virtual agent platform that enhances productivity for 20,000+ contact center employees in claims, service, and sales operations. This role requires deep expertise in Generative AI technologies and 10+ years of senior engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Design, architect, and develop scalable, high‑performance GenAI platform components that power end‑to‑end agentic workflows including knowledge curation, search, prompt management, orchestration, action execution, and semantic knowledge graphs. Make technical decisions on technology selection, build versus buy, speed to market, and future extensibility. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (data scientists, ML engineers, product managers, designers) to gather requirements, define scopes, and prioritize feature backlogs. Drive strategic planning and multi‑year product roadmaps, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely delivery of platform solutions. Lead engineering teams, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive system‑wide architectural improvements. Mentor engineering staff, establish best practices, and promote enterprise‑wide AI best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field. 10+ years of professional software development experience with at least two general‑purpose programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or C#. 10+ years of experience designing and building multi‑component AI/ML platforms using open‑source/cloud‑agnostic components (e.g., ElasticSearch, Qdrant, Snowflake, Kafka, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Spark, Ray, Airflow, Temporal). 6+ years of experience managing end‑to‑end software development life cycle, including version control, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes clusters, testing, monitoring, and production support. 6+ years of experience with Azure and AWS cloud providers. 3+ years of experience finetuning large language models (LLMs) such as GPT, LLaMA, Mistral, Claude for conversational experiences and agentic workflows.
Salary
Annual Salary $130,000.00 - $260,000.00
