The Principal Architect is responsible for providing advanced technical solutions for 5G Core deployments in a cloud architecture environment. This includes architecting and designing optimal solutions to ensure the highest level of service reliability, scalability, and performance across large-scale wireless cloud infrastructures. The position is based in Dallas, working in close collaboration with global technical and business teams.
Primary Responsibilities
End-to-end solution design for 5G Core networks integrated in cloud-based architectures.
Ensure service SLAs align with business requirements and meet customer expectations.
Establish and manage core service and performance metrics for network operations.
Ensure packet core performance and service KPIs for internet, multimedia, and low-latency services meet design criteria.
Define and operationalize tools for service availability, traffic engineering, and root cause analysis across converged IP and integrated wireless infrastructures.
Design and evolve automation frameworks to enhance operational efficiency and service effectiveness.
Develop and integrate disruptive AI/ML features, leveraging emerging technologies to enhance 5G/6G telecom network capabilities.
Collaborate with technology partners and OEMs to deliver best-in-class products and solutions.
Optimize and fine-tune network parameters to improve overall 5G Core performance and standardize baseline configurations.
Conduct network performance audits, analyses, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Recommend and manage tools for 5G performance monitoring, analytics, and troubleshooting.
Maintain and ensure integrity of network configurations and parameters.
Qualifications and Requirements
Deep understanding of wireless network architecture, technologies, and concepts, including VoLTE, VoWiFi, VoNR, and related 3GPP and GSMA standards.
Expert knowledge of operational challenges in large-scale data, voice (VoLTE, VoWiFi, VoNR), and video networks within Tier-1 operator environments.
Broad knowledge of 4G/5G end-to-end architectures, converged core solutions, call flows, and new 5GS (Release 16 and above) features.
Strong understanding of 4G/5G Core network elements and components, including MME, S/PGW, HSS, PCRF, ePDG, CSCF, TAS, AMF, SMF, UPF, PCF, UDM, NRF, NSSF, NEF, SCP, AUSF, and EPS fallback.
Expertise in cloud-native solutions for telco cloud networks — including performance, reliability, availability, security, monitoring, and management.
Solid understanding of the ETSI MANO framework, cloud management concepts, and multi-cloud orchestration (private, public, and hybrid clouds).
Familiarity with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Experience in end-to-end test planning and execution: acceptance, integration, functional, service, inter-op, and performance testing.
Understanding of AI/ML applications and their impacts on 5G/6G networks; experience with ML algorithms preferred.
Demonstrated team leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor SMEs.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities, capable of managing multiple projects and priorities.
