Accounting Manager
to lead day-to-day financial operations and strengthen internal processes. This role combines hands-on accounting work with team leadership and strategic oversight, ensuring accurate reporting and sound financial management across all programs and funding sources. Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting activities, including AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliations. Supervise and mentor a small finance team, ensuring accuracy and accountability. Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close. Manage expense allocations across departments, grants, and projects. Support financial reporting, audits, and annual filings. Partner with program and development teams on budgets, forecasts, and grant tracking. Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or advanced degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in management. Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting. Skilled in Excel and accounting systems (e.g., Intacct, QuickBooks, or similar). Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills. Able to thrive in a collaborative, mission-focused environment. Compensation
