The
Property Accountant Administrator
supports the Property Management Accounting team in daily operations, ensuring smooth coordination between property managers, tenants, and accounting functions. This position is responsible for managing incoming communications, processing payments, assisting with tenant billing, and supporting the team during key accounting cycles such as month‑end close and year‑end reporting.
Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable Coordination:
Monitor and organize the AP inbox; ensure timely routing and processing of invoices.
Assist with vendor communication and verification when needed.
Mail and Deposits:
Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail daily.
Process tenant rent payments and prepare deposit batches for accounting.
Tenant Communication & Statements:
Generate and send monthly rent statements and reminders to tenants.
Track and update tenant contact information as needed.
Year‑End Assistance:
Support the accounting team in tracking and verifying real estate tax payments.
Provide administrative assistance during annual reporting periods.
Administrative & Reporting Support:
Maintain electronic filing systems for invoices, deposits, and correspondence.
Assist with ad‑hoc reporting and special projects assigned by the accounting team.
Coordinate with property managers and maintenance staff to ensure accounting‑related documentation is complete and accurate.
Qualifications
Entry‑level to 2+ years of administrative or accounting support experience, preferably in commercial real estate or property management.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Experience with Yardi or other property management/accounting software preferred but not required.
Excellent communication and follow‑up skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
