St. Cloud VA Health Care System is seeking a Physician Assistant – Hematology/Oncology to serve Veterans at our Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) locations: Brainerd, Alexandria, and Montevideo. This position is full time, located at the Alexandria, MN location, requiring at least 75% travel between the locations. Overview

The Hematology/Oncology Physician Assistant (PA) position is within the Primary and Specialty Medicine Service Line. Duties include chronic disease management, preventative health care and evaluation of episodic acute illness to a predominately male population. Responsibilities
Assesses and documents medical history, diagnosis, and plan of care. Initiates, orders, and evaluates plans of care for panel of outpatient clients. Provides follow-up exams for mediation management and monitoring. Provides patient/family education regarding disease process, risk factor, symptom control, and treatment (including use of medication). Consults with other providers and multidisciplinary team. Qualifications
Applicants must meet the basic requirements: Master’s degree in any discipline or bachelor’s degree with one year of experience as a Physician Assistant, successfully passed the PA National Certifying Exam (PANCE), and hold an unrestricted license to practice in a state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United States. Preferred: Hematology/Oncology experience. Physical Requirements
Heavy lifting (45# or more), moderate carrying (up to 45#), reaching above shoulders, use of both hands and legs, use of fingers, prolonged walking and standing, intermittent crawling, kneeling, and bending. Near vision correctable at 13″ to 16″ to Jaeger 1 to 4, far binocular correctable to 20/40, vision, hearing (aide permitted), mental and emotional stability. Education
