Base Pay Range
$140,000 - $170,000 per year.
Who You Are
The Director, Global Customs and Trade Compliance brings deep expertise in global customs regulations, trade agreements, and compliance frameworks. You are strategic, detail‑oriented, and collaborative, with proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives that ensure regulatory adherence and operational efficiency.
What You’ll Do
Develop and implement trade compliance strategies for global supply chain operations. Manage teams, customs brokers, and consulting companies across NA, EMEA, and APAC. Proactively monitor, communicate, and provide alerts on changes in trade regulations, tariffs, sanctions, and FTAs. Oversee customs compliance (classification, valuation, duty management). Identify ways to minimize duty exposure through duty engineering and duty mitigation rules such as First Sale and Duty Deductions. Manage export control processes (licensing, restricted party screening). Conduct internal audits and collaborate with external auditors. Maintain documentation and prepare reports for leadership and regulators. Collaborate cross‑functionally with legal, production, finance, logistics, and government agencies. Ensure regional alignment and collaboration within the global compliance teams. Provide guidance, training, and support to the Supply Chain team at all levels. Represent company interests in discussions with lobbying groups, industry associations, and government agencies. Attend industry seminars related to trade and customs, share relevant information with internal stakeholders, and advise on regulatory/compliance matters.
Required Experience
10+ years in Trade Compliance and Customs roles. Strong knowledge of CBP, NAFTA, USMCA, and global FTAs. CCS or CES certification is a plus. Deep knowledge of HTS classification for Footwear, Apparel, and Accessories. Excellent oral and written communication skills across all levels. Ability to navigate international projects and collaborations effectively. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Knowledge of Trade Compliance, Customs, and FTZ systems. Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment. Willingness and ability to travel when needed.
