Academic Records Analyst – UC San Diego (Position #137018). This career appointment supports the Office of the Registrar in maintaining accurate student records and contributing to student success through data-driven analysis and compliance with university policies. Key Responsibilities

Identify and resolve system discrepancies in student record databases. Design, implement, and monitor database components, queries, and reports for program monitoring. Analyze complex issues related to academic records, gather information, research policies, and provide evidence-based solutions. Provide guidance on non-routine and sensitive matters related to student records and make appropriate referrals. Manage workload, support team members during busy periods, and coordinate the completion of the Academic Records processing schedule. Union representation: This position has recently been accreted by UAW union and will be part of that union moving forward. Qualifications

Experience interpreting policies, regulations, and practices pertaining to university student records services. Knowledge of federal and California laws on student privacy and access to information. Working knowledge of Registrar core functions (degree requirements, special enrollment, veterans’ benefits, residency). Complex database skills; mathematical ability to analyze GPA, course duplication, and End Academic Status. Strong problem identification, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with judgment and decision-making ability. Strong written and verbal communication; customer service orientation; interpersonal skills. Proficiency in common university computer applications and productivity software. Ability to work effectively with diverse cultures and establish cooperative relationships with campus departments and external agencies. Background check clearance; completion of Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) form if duties require contact with children under 18. Special Conditions

Job offer contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on background check results. Duties may require direct contact with children (defined as individuals under the age of 18). Compensation & Benefits

Annual full pay range: $65,800 – $115,000 (prorated if appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly equivalent: $31.51 – $55.08. Pay Transparency Act: annual full pay range may be broader than the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements.
