Compensation: $101,000 – $203,000 USD per year (plus benefits).

The Effectors Center within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) organization is currently hiring a Principal Systems Engineer – Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE) to join our Tucson, AZ location on the Coyote Block 2C‑RM program. SE&TC is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to design, develop and partner with multi-disciplines to shape innovative solutions for our customers.

The Principal Systems Engineer – Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE) is a technical role contributing directly to the requirements development and decomposition of complex subsystems as well as developing the verification approach. The Coyote Block 2C‑RM is a rapid development program resulting in a fast‑paced environment.

What You Will Do:

You will communicate to the Systems IPT and Program leadership to provide team status, accomplishments, issues, and help needed.

You will develop system and subsystem requirements for complex systems by collaborating with several IPTLs and SMEs to obtain necessary design information.

Provide SE technical expertise in development, integration, troubleshooting and failure investigations.

Lead technical discussions, and formulate plans of action by leveraging company Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across multiple engineering disciplines.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.

Experience performing requirements definition, decomposition, and changes.

The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

MS or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or Physics.

Ability to work independently and work with SMEs, CEs, LSEs, and other program stakeholders to make informed technical design decisions.

Experience evaluating and mitigating technical risks.

Experience with requirements management and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and associated tools (i.e. Cameo).

Prior work experience giving technical briefs or presentations.

Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Familiarity with military systems; tactics, techniques, and procedures.

Familiarity with DoD customer infrastructure and Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle.
