As a cloud computing application architect, you know how to build a cloud-based technical architecture that meets client needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. We need you to help us develop cloud-based solutions for some of the nation’s toughest challenges.
The Opportunity On our team, you’ll design a secure, cloud-based communications network to support mission-critical operations. This is an opportunity to use the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client’s environment using current cloud capabilities. Your technical expertise will be vital as you work with migration teams to inform strategy and design and ensure standards are met throughout the cloud migration process. You’ll recommend tools and solutions based on your research of the current environment and knowledge of various on premise, cloud-based, and hybrid resources. You’ll lead your team as they help the client overcome their most difficult challenges in the cloud. Additionally, you’ll broaden your skill set in areas like automation and cloud-based security while developing critical systems for national defense.
Responsibilities
Lead the design of secure, cloud-based communications network solutions for mission-critical satellite operations.
Collaborate with migration teams to develop strategy, design, and standards for cloud migration processes.
Recommend and implement best-in-class tools and solutions for cloud environments and hybrid infrastructures.
Develop and enforce policies for automation, security, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.
Mentor and lead teams to overcome complex challenges in cloud-based satellite communications.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud-native applications using microservices, serverless functions, API gateways, and containers, including Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience designing and implementing computer and information networks such as LAN, WAN, intranets, and extranets.
Experience performing network modeling, analysis, and planning.
Experience in CI/CD pipeline development with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
Experience in server automation using Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or SaltStack.
Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including IAM, network security, data encryption, vulnerability management, and security auditing.
Secret clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems and 4+ years of software engineering experience, or 9+ years of software engineering in lieu of a degree.
Nice If You Have
Experience with space systems or satellite communications.
Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM Templates, or IaC technologies to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
Experience configuring and managing virtual networks, subnets, routing, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, and networking components within a cloud environment.
Knowledge of AWS Cloud Edge Global Access (CEGA) framework.
Ability to work in development environments using JavaScript and AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK).
TS/SCI clearance.
Master’s degree.
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.
Clearance Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
Compensation Salary range: $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The posting will close within 90 days from the posting date.
