We are seeking a detail-oriented
Staff Accountant
to support our accounting and finance team during a 4-month temporary engagement. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, experience with general ledger activities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys hands‑on accounting work and can quickly adapt to established processes and systems. Key Responsibilities
Assist with
month-end and quarter-end close
activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Maintain the
general ledger
and ensure accuracy of financial data Support
accounts payable and accounts receivable
functions as needed Prepare and review
balance sheet reconciliations
and investigate discrepancies Assist with
financial statement preparation
and internal reporting Collaborate with the finance team to
streamline accounting processes Support
audit preparation
and provide documentation as requested Perform
ad hoc analysis
and other accounting tasks as assigned Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (nonprofit experience a plus) Solid understanding of
GAAP
