How You’ll Make An Impact Team Lead, Financial Systems

is responsible for overseeing and guiding the Financial Systems team in key tasks related to divisional financial systems testing, integration, support and reporting. The role acts as a liaison between the Financial Systems Team, the Accounting Center and Divisional Finance and Operations teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and execution of projects. The Team Lead mentors team members, manages priorities and drives process improvements to achieve departmental goals.

Essential Functions

Lead and oversee the testing and conversion of accounting data from branch agency management systems to central divisional systems, including data analysis and reconciliation of converted data.

Manage and coordinate all activities related to testing and implementation of agency management system upgrades and production maintenance.

Provide leadership and guidance to the team in supporting agency management system accounting processes and resolving production issues.

Prioritize and organize production support issues, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with stakeholders.

Collaborate with internal and external development teams to test, implement and resolve production issues and new functionality.

Develop and deliver training and communication to finance and accounting users on new Epic functionality and reports.

Oversee the testing and maintenance of finance and accounting reports in agency management systems and ancillary reporting systems.

Create, review and maintain accounting system procedures and testing documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Maintain organization of all electronic files for the accounting center and ensure compliance with documentation standards.

Lead and support various projects, audits and initiatives as assigned by the Financial Systems Manager.

Leadership Responsibilities

Act as the primary point of contact for the Financial Systems team, providing mentorship, coaching and performance feedback to team members.

Foster a collaborative and cooperative team environment, encouraging cross‑functional support to meet department deadlines and goals.

Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring team members are empowered to take ownership of their responsibilities.

Communicate processes, procedures and updates to large group forums and stakeholders.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.

Other Functions

Contribute to a positive team culture by promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Review and implement written procedures for assigned processes within the department.

Provide training and development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and expertise.

Act as a subject matter expert and resource for team members and stakeholders.

Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

About You Required

Bachelor’s degree (Accounting/Finance or Information Systems)

Minimum of 6 years hands‑on experience with accounting systems and processes.

Expert level proficiency in Excel.

Strong accounting trade/process knowledge as well as application support or relevant production, technical support and problem/incident management experience.

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Information Systems or equivalent job experience.

Minimum of 4 years of leadership experience in a financial systems or accounting environment.

Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Working Conditions

Ability to work additional hours as needed to meet individual, team and department goals, including month‑end closings and system conversions.

Flexibility to work non‑core hours, including evenings and weekends, for scheduled maintenance, system upgrades or conversions.

Occasional travel may be required to support team initiatives or attend training sessions.

The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
