Senior Manager, Customer Due Diligence

Opportunity In support of the Financial Crimes Program, the Senior Manager, Customer Due Diligence executes against the Policies, Standards, and guidance designed to identify and mitigate Money Laundering / Terrorist Financing (ML / TF) risk including, but not limited to, Customer Identification Program (CIP), Know Your Customer (KYC), Customer Due Diligence / Enhanced Due Diligence (CDD / EDD), Client Risk Rating (CRR), maintenance of RBC Bank client profiles, and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements. This role will participate and assist with various AML risk assessment processes and contribute to the metrics and reporting strategy for the first line of defense (1LOD).
What will you do?
Execute all aspects of the RBC Bank Customer Due Diligence program and standards (i.e., CIP, KYC, CDD, EDD).
Create or validate test scripts to facilitate quality assurance reviews of key 1LOD CDD processes and conduct reviews and communicate results to relevant stakeholders and Senior Financial Crimes management.
Responsible for developing, evolving, and maintaining 1LOD procedures, guides, and tools needed to ensure clarity of critical AML/BSA processes specific to CDD/EDD, KYC, CIP, and Sanctions.
Represent 1LOD in new product/service development to ensure that AML/BSA/OFAC compliance risks are identified and addressed.
Assist in the preparation and management of 1LOD CDD elements for oversight testing, internal audits, and regulatory examinations.
Utilize BSA/PATRIOT ACT/OFAC knowledge to research and identify industry best practices and to provide recommendations on implementation.
Manage strategic 1LOD CDD projects that directly impact the success of the overall AML program.
Conduct ongoing KYC research using resources such as internet websites and AML/BSA related publications to maintain knowledge of current events and trends affecting compliance with AML regulations.

Qualifications
Minimum 7-10 years’ experience required in Compliance Operations, Project Execution, or equivalent areas.
Extensive knowledge of anti-money laundering related requirements domestically including BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC and other US regulations such as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).
Sound knowledge of global AML/KYC requirements.
Strong Leadership, facilitation, negotiation, verbal & written communication skills to deal with senior executives.
Ability to identify and utilize internal and external networks to influence situations and establish effective relationships.
Strong analytical & problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Accurately defines problems and identifies relevant factors while objectively considering alternatives and anticipating the client impact of possible solutions.
