Key Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of plaintiff-side employment litigation, including intake, case strategy, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation
Conduct client interviews, legal research, and factual investigations
Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence
Represent clients in mediations, depositions, court hearings, arbitrations, and trials
Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to provide excellent client service
Maintain organized case files and adhere to litigation deadlines
Participate in firm meetings, case reviews, and strategy sessions
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in NY and in good standing
Strong litigation experience (plaintiff-side employment law)
Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills
Comfortable taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, and trying cases
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines independently
Passion for employee rights and social justice
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with federal and state employment laws (Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, FEHA, CFRA, etc.)
Prior experience with wage and hour class/collective actions a plus
